Event description
Event dates: 28–30 November 2022
Since 2011, the annual UN Forum on Business and Human Rights has congregated thousands of participants from governments, international organisations, business, trade unions, civil society, legal experts, and academia from around the world.
Based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the Forum has been a multistakeholder platform where participants could jointly discuss challenges and review the implementation of the UNGPs. The theme of the 11th Forum is ‘Rights holders at the centre: Strengthening accountability to advance business respect for people and planet in the next decade’. Specific focus will be placed on accountability and remedy mechanisms, as well as the stocktaking of efforts accomplished at this stage.
A special session, titled Mandating Responsible Business Conduct in the Technology Sector – Advancing the UNGPs in Regulatory Debates, will be held on 29 November. You can read the full programme here.
