Event description
Event date: 6 December 2022, 16:30–18:30 CET
The Inter-Parliamentary Union, in collaboration with the UN Cybercrime Ad Hoc Committee, is organising an online hearing to allow the expression and inclusion of parliamentary voices in drafting the convention on cybercrime.
As human interactions and activities increasingly take place in cyberspace, parliamentarians emerge as an important group of stakeholders for addressing rising modern threats through their legislative, oversight, budget-setting, and representative functions.
This online event will give parliamentarians around the world an exclusive opportunity to inform the chair of the Cybercrime Ad Hoc Committee of the specific needs and improvements that should be addressed during negotiations on the convention.
This event will be held in two sessions, suitable for those in different time zones:
- Session 1 (Asia and Pacific): 7:00-9:00 CET
- Session 2 (Africa, Europe, and the Americas): 16:30-18:30 CET
