Event description
Event dates: 27 February–4 April 2023
The 52nd regular session of the Human Rights Council will continue its quintessential work of promoting the protection of all human rights, civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, including the right to development.
Apart from the universal periodic review, the follow-up on human-rights-related declarations, and organisational matters, the session also features an annual whole-day discussion on rights of the child on 10 March. Pursuant to the Council resolution 49/20, the theme for the aforementioned day will be ‘Rights of the child and the digital environment’. The first panel discussion will elaborate on the challenges and opportunities for the full exercise of rights of the child in the digital environment, and the second panel on how pertinent policy and legal frameworks could be strengthened.
